Season update: Positive culture and pathways at White Hills

The White Hills Senior Women & Under 18’s football teams are navigating a challenging mid-season stretch. Our Women’s division unfortunately slipped to sixth after a ladder high at the midway mark. With a number of games against the top tier teams, our players continue to show incredible improvement, slowly minimising the margin against other teams, and growing a welcoming culture as we head into the tail end of the season.

Our 18 girls are sitting in 4th position after round 13 , and are in an incredibly strong position for finals. The team has continued to strengthen over the years, and has a number of well versed players, that have been playing football since under 12’s and below.

🌟 Building a stronger culture

The Women Seniors and Under 18’s teams at White Hills pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming. Both new and returning players are embraced, and our camaraderie shines when we celebrate the small victories, even in the face of defeat against the league’s top teams.

The dedication shown by our committee and volunteers to build club pathways has been phenomenal. From the inception of our first dedicated Under 12’s, we can now proudly field junior and senior sides across two regional leagues.

🏉 Team updates across the leagues

Central Victoria Football League (CVFL)

  • Senior Women: Our senior women are fighting hard in the CVFL. While recent weeks have brought tough games against the top teams, our structural improvement is highly visible. The women’s camaraderie and celebration of the small things is encouraging, and we have dramatically reduced losing margins compared to previous years.
  • Under 18 Girls: Our Under 18 girls have shown a massive turnaround from previous seasons. Their development, cohesion, and on-field execution are a true testament to their hard work at training.
  • Updates: Follow both CVFL teams, view match photos, and find senior news on the White Hills Womens Football Facebook Page.

Bendigo Junior Football League (BJFL)

  • Under 15 Girls: At round 10 sitting 4th in an 11-team BJFL division. Our Under 15s are a powerful team! This is a wonderfully “young” team featuring a number of players who stepped up from the Under 12s last year. They are holding their own beautifully in a highly split division.
  • Under 12 Girls: Our Under 12s are doing an exceptional job, particularly considering the majority of the team has never played AFL before! Coached by two Senior Women players, they are focusing on skill development and teaching positivity through inevitable losses. Although these girls know how to celebrate, with a win and a draw under their belts after round 10. The excitement of their first goals is electric as they learn and enjoy their new team.
  • Updates: Follow our BJFL junior pathway progress, schedules, and photos via the White Hills Junior Football Club Facebook Page.

⏭️ What’s Next?

As we approach the tail end of the season, our teams across the CVFL and BJFL have a number of what will be tough games against the top placed clubs in each division. The positivity from all our teams is high, and we wish them all the best as they move towards the 2026 season finals.

We are always looking to welcome new faces to our great community. Whether you are looking for a junior team or senior women’s footy, learn more about registration on the Play Women’s Footy Site or reach out to the respective committee members through our social pages!

Go Hillies! ❤️🖤
